This family. Oh they were SO much fun! We met at my FAVORITE park in College Station - Brison Park. Have you been there? If not. Go. Finish reading this post. But then you should go. This park is a fantastic place for running free, climbing trees, swinging on a classic wooden swing or even flying a kite. The latter being the only thing we didn't do during this session.
We started here. On the swings. Who doesn't love a good swing? It was a great way to break the ice with these sweeties and to get everyone smiling.
I mentioned that we laughed a lot, right? That is what made this session so much fun. This family knows how to play and laugh together. As a photographer, this characteristic is paramount for a great session. It's easy for parents to feel anxious about their kids smiling the right way, behaving and sitting still. But, let's be honest. That's not really how most kids roll. They like to be silly and play. It works out well for me when parents are okay with playfulness during a session. One, I like to be silly! Two, we capture genuine smiles and that's what you really want to remember anyway!
This session took place on the birthday of Dad/Pawpaw. It was his birthday request to have family photos taken. Isn't that a sweet gift? My hope is that these photos will be an heirloom for this family, a life long treasure for each generation represented!
